Urban Legend

This is the first house built for the Anaraste Series. I was aiming for a moderate family home running about 50 to 60k, for the new town Mayor to live in. As far as that goal goes, I failed. Miserably!

First off, it came out way over budget. Way, way. $122,848 and only moderately furnished and landscaped. Oops. Just the empty shell was 50k! I followed a tutorial to learn how to attach the garage to the house. That part went ok, but the roof managed to escape me yet again. I ended up clicking the auto-roof button yet again. I really need to hunt up some roof tutorials. But, not today.

By the time the empty shell was up, and I figured I was over budget, it was very late on a work night, I saved and shut down. I almost bull-dozed the lot, but something wouldn’t let me do that.

The next day at work, the house kept calling me … a siren’s call not to give up on it. Sure, it would be several generations before anyone in my new ‘hood could afford to live in it, but maybe one of your sims could!

I got home, did the Mom and Wife stuff, and built a more suitable house. Still couldn’t let this one go, so I finished it in the wee hours of the morning. Sleep is over-rated anyway!

It’s huge folks. The living room is about the size of Delaware, there are 3 big bedrooms, a huge gameroom, a craft room and a “screened in” exercise room. (Not really screened in because there is no custom content.)

It looks like this:

414 Strawberry Cove

This is another large house for an advanced Legacy, or for a large family. It has 5 bedrooms and 4 bonus rooms, although one is quite small. It is built in a Mexican, or perhaps a Southwestern Style. It was built by request (strong suggestion?) from prescella_bean, who needed a large house built on a 3 x 3 lot. I’ve uploaded a few of these large houses recently, but she needed one on a smaller lot, so I did one. This one is 2-story, where the others were one story. She did not give me a budget, I shot for $70k, but missed by a bunch. :(

No custom content, no hacks, no sims in it.
Base game only, no EPs needed!! 3 x 3 lot $88,135 partially furnished

Hippy Hollow

pne (who did an awesome job organizing the tags for this site,) requested a house for a hippy.  The house only needed to be big enough for one sim.  The yard had to be big enough for several fruit trees, a vegetable garden, and a pond.  The hippy!sim was going to “live off the land” so to speak.  Oh, and keep it under 50K, please.

Have I mentioned that I love a good request?  :)

Base game only, no EPs needed!! 3 x 4 lot, $49,583 furnished with items for all 7 skills included

The house itself is based loosely on a house my Hubby is currently building for a “hippy” friend of ours.  The house is very open to the outdoors, lots of air and light.  Lots of wood … cedar and pine, natural materials, big porches and decks used for outdoor living spaces.  Here in Texas, these spaces can be used nearly year ’round.

DeMorne Mansion

Had surgery on my foot yesterday. It went well. However I am confined to the couch or bed for the next couple weeks. So, what to do? Build sim houses, of course.

16 year old daughter, Daisy, requested this house. She wanted a two story house, huge, lots of windows, 3 bedrooms, a place for a very rich sim to raise his daughter. It is for a story she’s working on. Below is what I came up with. I don’t know how useful this house will be for your average sim, as it’s nearly 250,000 simoleans to move in. Steep price, that, lots of motherlodes! :)

You only need the base game and Nightlife to use this house.

01 Melody

My 11 year old daughter requested this house. She picked the floor plan out herself from a book of them I have here, and requested certain alterations. She likes big rooms with lots of space, so of course I fixed her right up. She wants to decorate it with her own custom content, so I left the house mostly unfurnished. Kitchens and baths are complete, and there is a spattering of furniture about to show what the rooms were intended to be. However, feel free to decorate in any way you choose, change the floorplan, add on, what ever tickles your fancy.

01 Melody is a 3 bedroom, 4 bath house with 2 stories. Downstairs is the master suite, nursery, kitchen, dining room, living room and indoor pool. Upstairs there are 2 kids bedrooms, each with it’s own bath, and an area that can be game room, music room skilling room, sitting room, library, OR whatever you want it to be. Minimal landscaping outside so you can do what you wish out there.

As always, no custom content, no hacks and no sims inside.
NO EPs needed to use this house! $82,158

Piedmont Cottage

This house came from a book of house plans I bought. It seems to big to be called a “cottage” to me, but what do I know? :) Oh, and sometimes I spell it Piedmont, and sometimes Peidmont, so there you have it.

Piedmont Cottage has 3 bedrooms and three bathrooms with 2 stories and is built on a 40×40 lot. The master suite is downstairs and has a large build in bathroom and a nursery that can be turned into an office, or the walls can easily be removed to make the master bedroom larger. The living room has cathedral ceilings with 2 story windows and graceful columns to add that sophisticated touch. The lower level is a split level, with a raised kitchen and a separate raised dining room. Upstairs you’ll find 2 smaller bedrooms and a bathroom. It would be easy to add more space upstairs if it’s needed later, just remember to remove the roof before expanding. (Then remember to put a roof back on when done lol.)

The lot has zero landscaping to keep move in costs down. There is room outside to add a garden, pool, cemetery, fishing tank or driveway. Not all of those, but some of those. The front and back entry have large covered porches. The kitchen and baths are complete, but the rest of the house is unfurnished. There is one piece of furniture in each room to show what the room is for, but please do as you wish when decorating.

This house has NOT been play tested.

As always, no custom content, no hacks and no sims inside.
UNI, NL, OFB, Pets and Seasons needed. $60,861

Bachelor Pad

Here we have the perfect garage apartment for your Sims who care more about their car* than their living area. It’s called Bachelor Pad but hey, no reason the car-loving female sims can’t enjoy it just as much!

The lower level is just a garage, but the upper level has all the comforts of home! It is a furnished starter home that comes in under $19,000. It has been play tested for a couple of seasons, and while it doesn’t work well for large parties, smaller get-togethers do quite well. This house does NOT have all 7 skilling items, it’s missing logic and creativity, so get your sim a job quick so s/he can buy those items.

*Car not included.

As always, no custom content, no hacks and no sims inside.
UNI, NL, OFB, Pets and Seasons required. 18,112.00
